American Gold Eagle Bullion Coin
First minted in 1986, the American Gold Eagle bullion coin is made in 22 Karat Gold from newly mined sources in America.
Lady Liberty is depicted on the obverse (front) of the coin. This design is based on the 1907 $20 gold coin by world renowned American sculptor, Augustus Saint-Gauden. The design depicts Lady Liberty holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The Capitol building can also be seen in the lower right in the background.
The reverse (back) side of the gold bullion coin depicts a family of eagles. Along the bottom is it's weight and face value. Gold Eagle bullion coins come in 1oz ($50 Face Value), 1/2oz ($25 Face Value), 1/4oz ($10 Face Value) and 1/10oz ($5 Face Value) sizes.
